Frequently Asked Questions

Can I advertise on HouseBroker and also use a Real Estate Agent?

Absolutely. However if you do enlist the services of a real estate agent, make sure that you are completely upfront with the agent about your intentions. The contract between yourself and the agent "must not give them exclusive rights to your property", otherwise you could end up with disputes over commission once your property is sold.

Just make sure you know what you are signing a 'General' or 'Exclusive' authority.

How does HouseBroker work?

1. Create a user login, then

2. Create your Listing or Webpage, Preview it, Save it, and Publish it Live!

3. Listings and Web Pages, Live within 24 hours, Active for 2 YEARS.

If the package you have purchased includes a “For Sale” sign, this will be posted to you within 3 business days of cleared payment.

How do I erect my sign?

All signs will have 4 eyelits punched in the corners, allowing you to attach it to your front fence. If you don’t have a fence, we recommend either wooden or steel pickets be hammered into the centre of your front yard. Cable ties are an effective way to affix the sign to either fence or pickets.

Can I change or add photos or text to my Listing or Web Page after it becomes active?

Yes you can. When you register your details with HouseBroker, you will create a user name and password which will then allow to you log into the web site and manage your listing or web page/ Unlimited Editing is Free. If you need any help with this, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If someone makes an offer on my property, where do I go from there?

We strongly recommend (even if you are also intending to use an agent) that you obtain a completely independent valuation of your property before you place it on the market. This will give you an idea of what your property is worth in the current market so that you have more power to negotiate. Once you receive an offer you are prepared to accept, it will be up to you to employ the services of a solicitor or conveyancer and to agree on a settlement date with your buyer.
